Dear friends and family:

I pray this finds you well as you are visiting our website.  I am excited to share some ground breaking news with you (pun intended) - news that I think you'll be interested in hearing about.

For the past 10 years Unity Fellowship Church Charlotte has been working at the intersections of faith, social justice and equality for all.  We continue to be unapologetic in our commitment to the principles of our Christian faith, understanding that to do this work well, we must be equally committed to the service and welcome of all. We are called to serve gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and gender variant people, those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, youth, people of low wealth, immigrant populations, and other often marginalized communities.  

In collaboration with various community entities like The County Commission and The Freedom Center for Social Justice, we have and continue to:

• fight for resources for inner-city schools
• provide tutoring and career development for at-risk high school students
• educate teens and young women on HIV/AIDS prevention
• initiate a rites of passage program for boys
• engage in interfaith work creating safer faith communities for LGBT people

As we prepare for the next 10 years of organizational life,  the needs in the community and congregation desperately call for more space. Our solution: The Unity Fellowship Church of Charlotte Lighthouse Project.

What is the Lighthouse Project? (see renderings below) 

The renovation of our existing building and the addition of a new multi-purpose facility will give us much needed space for the current work we do as well as allow for expanded reach into community through athletics, conference and office space.  This will also provide more opportunities for local and national collaborations. We would like your help in making the Lighthouse a reality. 

OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $30,000 in the next 30 days.  Together we can do this!

Become a Lighthouse Torchbearer*

• Buy a stone block: $100
• Support the eco-friendly rainwater basin: $250
• Support the youth and community gym: $500
• Invest in the elevator for the differently-abled: $1000 

*Lighthouse Torchbearers will be recognized on ourTorchbearer Wall in the new facility.
